In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest, where no one sees you, But sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.
– RUMI –
I aspire to create conceptual paintings to evoke meaningful
experiences of aesthetics as well as insights.
My art journey is influenced by many remarkable people and rich
experiences that have and are unfolding in my life.
My desire is to evoke a meaning-making experience for the audience as they interact with my paintings.
This meaning-making may appeal to the audience’s visual and/ or insightful sensibilities, both equally rewarding for me.
Experiences & Influences
My art journey is influenced by many remarkable people and rich experiences that have and are unfolding in my life.
I am deeply indebted to my mother, whose sense of style I inherited, and my father who influenced my sense of design and proportions …
I use acrylic paints and combination of various techniques to create the desired effect.
Working with various acrylic viscosities bring about surprising and interesting results. Acrylic viscosities include heavy body, soft body, fluid, high-flow, metallic and pigments. The techniques may include fluid pouring, Dutch pouring, swiping, blowing, gilding, texturing, calligraphy and many more.
Experimenting with various acrylic paint brands and mediums helps me determine which combination can create various effects, such as cells or lacing. I also layer various paint densities, that may sink or float, to manipulate the patterns.
